It ranks people on verified evidence of real work mined from public data — open source contributions, writing, and talks — instead of resumes anyone can fake. Founders describe a role or paste a job description and get a credible shortlist, with mission alignment as a first class signal. DevMatch is available as a website and as an MCP server, so it works directly inside Cursor, Claude, ChatGPT, and any MCP compatible assistant.

## Who it is for
Startup founders, early engineering leaders, and recruiters or agencies who are drowning in low signal, often fraudulent applicants and need a credible shortlist fast.

## Why it exists
AI flooded hiring with fake applicants and generated resumes, collapsing the signal in every traditional channel. At the same time, small elite teams now out compete much larger organizations, so a single mis hire is expensive. The market needs verified signal, not more noise. DevMatch reads the evidence of real work that is already public and turns it into trust.

## How it is different
Profile based networks rank on self reported data; popularity tools rank on proxies like stars and followers. DevMatch ranks on verified contribution evidence across GitHub and beyond, and adds mission alignment as a first class signal — what early teams actually hire on. ## Business model
Usage based pricing across Free, Pro, Team, Scale, and Enterprise tiers. A credit is one successful tool call; failed, cached, or empty results do not bill. The model replaces expensive agency fees with software priced, verified shortlists.

## What DevMatch is not
- Not a two sided marketplace. Engineers are discovered from public contribution data; they do not sign up or apply.
- Not a resume database. Ranking comes from verified evidence of real work, not self described bios.
- Not popularity ranking. Signal is verified contribution, not stars, followers, or buzz.
- Not limited to GitHub. Git is the cornerstone, but the platform also draws on writing, talks, and other public work.
